About Cinetram
Cinetram's Cinematographer Tools are free calculators for the camera and lighting departments: depth of field, field of view, format equivalence, anamorphic, frame lines, shutter angle, ND filters, exposure, light meter conversion, color temperature, the inverse square law, slow motion, timelapse, timecode, sun and golden hour, and storage and data rate.
They are made for use on set and in prep: quick to read on a phone, with values entered the way crews talk about them, such as stops between full stops or distances in meters and feet.
Camera data
Sensor sizes and recording modes come from the manufacturers' own published specifications, format guides and manuals, and from the SMPTE standards for film formats. Where a manufacturer publishes only pixel counts or a crop factor, the size is calculated and marked with ≈ in the camera list. Cameras whose figures could not be confirmed from an official source are kept, but are marked as unverified in the data.
If you find a value that does not match your camera, please send it to us through the contact form with the source and we will correct it.
How it works
The calculations run in your browser. Nothing you enter is sent to our server. The tools are free and need no account.
