Timelapse calculator
Plan a timelapse. Enter the interval between frames, how long the event lasts and your playback frame rate; the calculator gives the finished clip length, the number of frames and how many times faster than real time it plays.
Use it to choose an interval that gives the clip length the edit needs.
How to use it
- Interval: seconds between frames.
- Event duration: how long you will shoot, in minutes.
- Playback frame rate: the project frame rate.
Example
Shooting one frame every 5 seconds for 60 minutes gives 720 frames: a 30-second clip at 24 fps, sped up ×120.
Good to know
Clip length = (event duration ÷ interval) ÷ playback frame rate. Speed-up = interval × playback frame rate.
